In Memory Of
James Ronald "Jim" Zappe
1939 - 2021

Jim Zappe, born in Dayton, Ohio on May 16, 1939, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the age of 81.

Jim loved his children, Chris, Mark, Steve and Jenny; his daughters-in-law Janet and Jeannie; and his grandchildren Lauren, Matt, Jack, Quinten and Ethan. Jim had many wonderful friends whom he enjoyed throughout his life. He was a passionate advocate for the Dayton Liederkranz Turner German picnic each summer. For many years, he was employed by the Dayton Homebuilders Association. He got great enjoyment from time on the golf course with friends, and absolutely loved fishing with his grandchildren. In his younger years, he thoroughly enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, and demolition derbies!

Jim joins his beloved daughter, Jenny; his grandson, Jacob; and his parents, Dolores and Wendell Frank Zappe, in eternal life. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, his brother David, and his faithful friend Cheryl Zappe.

In honor of his life and legacy, please feel welcome to make a donation to the Jennifer Zappe Walton Memorial Soccer Scholarship Fund, c/o Fifth Third Bank, 5400 Cornerstone N. Blvd.; Centerville, Ohio 45440.

At this time, a service has been planned only for immediate family, and future plans will be made for a celebration of life with Jim’s many wonderful friends.
