Charlene Strickland was born September 8, 1951 to Mary and Charley Strickland. She was a lifelong resident of Dayton, OH. On January 8, 2021, God called her home.

Charlene graduated from Dunbar High School1969. She worked for Dayton Daily News for over 20 years. Charlene enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, playing bingo, taking weekend bus trips, and volunteering. She attended Greater Works Church.

Charlene was preceded in death by her mother Mary Strickland, father Charley Strickland and brother Charley Strickland Jr. she leaves to cherish her memory her loving children Nathaniel Strickland, Kevin Strickland, Jason Strickland, Jerret Strickland, Charlette (Chris) Boykin, Shawn Strickland, and DewChar Carroll. 18 grandchildren Alexis, Ja’ Laquan, Andre’, Jayon, Shawn, Juston, Janiyah, Jaida, Amir, Demmi, MeeShawn, Ivy Rain, Myshawn, Jason, Madison, Skylar, Jayce and Remedy. 2 sisters Rosemarie Rogers and Anna Strickland. Special aunt Lillie Shoecraft. Best friend Gwendolyn Williams. A host of close aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service to follow at 11:00 am at Newcomer Kettering, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439.
