She was born on September 17, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late Daniel and Eileen (McMahon) Shea. She was a teacher in the Dayton Public School System for a number of years and later became a case worker at the Dayton YWCA’s Domestic Women’s Shelter. Nancy graduated from Mercy High School in Chicago and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton.
She is survived by her children, Patrick (Andrea), Timothy, Kevin (Amy) and Shannon O’Neill (James Krumal); grandchildren Ryan, Erin, Kelly, Molly, Madeline and John Robert "Bo" O’Neill; sister, Norine Slajchert and brother James (MaryAnn) Shea. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Shea.
The O’Neill family would like to thank the staff at Spring Hills Singing Woods Assisted Living Facility and Miami Valley Hospital for the care she received.
A private viewing for family members will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at St Albert the Great, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, OH. Nancy will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
