Veryl Mae McFawn, age 96, of Sarasota, Florida passed away on Monday January 11, 2021 at Traditions of Beavercreek in Beavercreek, Ohio. She was born in Detroit, MI on October 21, 1924 the daughter of Franklin G. Russell and Florence B. (nee Parker) Russell.
Veryl graduated from Redford High School, Redford, MI in 1942. She worked for many years as an executive secretary in both the Detroit area and Sarasota, FL. Veryl was a long-time resident of Sarasota, FL (1961-April 2017). She loved playing golf and cards with her many friends, traveling with friends and family, enjoying time at Siesta Key Beach, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She moved to Beavercreek, OH in April 2017 where she resided at Traditions of Beavercreek in assisted living. She spent the final years of her life enjoying time with her son Lester and his wife Carol, family celebrations, and the new friends she made at Traditions.
Veryl is preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. McFawn; parents; sisters, Phyllis Russell & Faye Marta (Russell); and grandaughter, Karen C. McFawn.
She is survived by her son, Lester McFawn and his wife Carol J. McFawn of Piqua, Ohio; daughter, Marianne Corbine (McFawn) of Rio Oso, CA; 5 Grandchildren, Tammy DePonte of Elk Grove, CA, Pamela McCollum of Rio Oso, CA, Amy Veryl of Rio Oso, CA, David McFawn of Park City, UT & Kevin McFawn of Loveland, OH; 9 Great Grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
Veryl will be laid to rest at David's Cemetery in Kettering, Ohio.
