1935 - 2020

Jack Roy Cokeley, age 85 of Dayton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2020. He was born May 27, 1935 in Harrisville, West Virginia son of the late Roy and Vessie Cokeley.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Russell, Bobby, and Ronnie Cokeley; sisters, Elizabeth Young and Glennis Hartley; son-in-law, James "Paul" Jackson Sr.

Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Jack was a member of Cross Fire Fellowship. He loved spending his winters in Florida. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jack loved life and he enjoyed living it to the fullest. He loved spending his time with his family. Jack will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jack is survived by his wife of 65 1/2 years, Retha Cokeley; daughters, Martha Frey, Brenda Jackson, Dolores (Martin) Grabe, and Patricia Cokeley; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nancy Bell, Faye Bennett, Peggy (Bud) Griffin, Sandy Meredith, William Cokeley, and Jerry Cokeley; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Family will receive friends on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home at 1:30pm. Burial to take place at Valley View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jack's honor to Hospice of Dayton.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Hospice of Dayton for the love and care that they showed Jack and his family.
