Hoskins, Theda age 81 of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, formally of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away on August 27, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.B. Sandy Hoskins and her parents, Ernest and Agnes Smith of Beavercreek, Ohio.

Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dale Shires of Beavercreek, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Rick Bireley of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Aaron Trent of Seattle Washington, Allison (Jonathan) Trent-Craven of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Alex and Carsyn Bireley of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; soon to be great-granddaughter in November, Emersyn Craven; as well as her sister, Opal (Leo) Swallows of Beavercreek, Ohio; brothers, Kennith Ray (Judy) Smith of West Carrollton, Ohio and Ernest Jack (Melanie) Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Theda was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church of Ft. Wayne and United Methodist Women.

Before moving to Ft. Wayne in 2014, she was a member of First Dayton Free Will Baptist Church of Dayton, Ohio. She was also a member of the AK Chapter P.E.O. of Dayton.

Theda had a passion to educate many generations. Knowledge was so important to her that she worked 10 years at Beavercreek City Schools and retired from Wright State University after 25 years.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 170 N Valley Rd, Xenia, OH 45385.
