Bill is survived by his wife, Robin Thompson (nee Denney); daughters, Tiffany Thompson and Mandy Knopp; sons, William "Bill" (Joanna) Thompson and Joseph "Joey" Denney; brothers, James "Jim" (Nancy) Thompson and Lawrence "Larry" (Angela) Thompson; sister, Kay (Lee) Bowen; grandchildren, Dustin, Taylor, Brianna, Dylan, Cameron, Brandon, Adalynn and Justin; great-grandson, Carter; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
In 1969, Bill served as a sharpshooter/marksman in the Vietnam War for the United States Army. After returning stateside, he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas and served as military police until 1971 . He was a member of AMVETS Post #99 and the NRA. Bill was passionate about a few things, playing pool, his Harley, whiskey & biscuits and his cigars.
In loving memory of Bill, contributions may be made to Habitat of Humanity of Greater Dayton, 115 W. Riverview Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45405.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2020 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
