1933 - 2020

Frankie J. Wheeler, age 87 of Dayton, passed away May 16, 2020. He was born March 20, 1933 in Bulls Gap, Tennessee to the late Oscar and Maggie Wheeler. In addition to his parents, Frankie was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters; and his son-in-law, Ricky Blevins.

Frankie is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Thelma Wheeler; children: Cheryle Blevins, Larry Wheeler (Patty) and Melissa Wheeler (Joe Queen); grandchildren: Shannon, Adam, Brad, Jim, Priscilla, Justin, Courtney and Jake; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers: Worth Wheeler (Faye) and Jay Wheeler; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Frankie was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean War; retired from Hobart after more than 40 years of service and was a volunteer firefighter with Harrison Township Fire Department. Frankie was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 6560; was part owner of Tip Top Market; and was a member of Northridge United Baptist Church. Frankie was a loving and caring man who had a great sense of humor. He will be remembered by many for his Frank-ism's. Most of all, Frankie was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Pastor Greg Banks officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City.
