1960 - 2020

Timothy L. "Tim" Harlett, age 59 of Dayton, passed away April 1, 2020. He was born April 14, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brother, David J. Harlett.

Tim is survived by his daughters: Aleia Ellis (Justin) and Noelle Hodapp; parents: Greta Harlett and Robert & Lila Harlett; sisters: Rita Ward (Jerry) and Karen S. Pizzo (Mark); brother, Edward Paul Harlett; grandchildren: Amelia, Scott, Wayne and George Ellis; God-children: Anne Case and Dimitri Kossoudji; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tim grew up in Corpus Christi Parish and graduated from the parish elementary school in 1975. He graduated from John H. Patterson Co-op High School in 1979. Tim was a Master Carpenter. He worked for Woodsmith and Zengel Construction Group for more than 40 years. Tim was president of Our Lady of Grace Parish council. He enjoyed leading the parish fish fry and picnic on a yearly basis. For many years, Tim was an usher at the U.D. basketball games. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tim enjoyed football and baseball, especially the game between the Browns and Bengals. He enjoyed going to the Dayton Dragons games with his family and friends; was an avid gardener; enjoyed playing progressive rummy and Greedy dice game. Tim loved spending time with his grandchildren playing floor and board games. He loved visiting his daughters in Kentucky. Tim was a faithful son, always caring for his parents.

In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19, private immediate family services will be held at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held and announced at a later date. Contributions may be made in Tim's memory to Our Lady of Grace Parish, 220 W. Siebenthaler Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45405.
