Verselle Edith Parr

Verselle Parr, of Vandalia formerly of Fairborn, passed away Monday, February 10, 2020. Verselle was born on October 14 to Rossie and Alice (Bonner) Allen who preceded her in death. Also, preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles Parr, sister Louise Turner, and brother Andrew Allen.

Verselle leaves to cherish her memory sister Frances Turner (Richmond, VA) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Verselle was born and raised in Richmond, VA. After graduating high school she moved to Pittsburgh and attended Duquesne University studying nursing. Verselle met Charles in Pittsburgh. He served both in the US Army and Air Force. Their last military assignment was Wright Patterson Air Force Base. She worked as a pediatric nurse at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Verselle was a member of WPAFB Kittyhawk Chapel and in later years attended Phillips Temple CME Church. She volunteered for numerous organizations and was a member of Fairborn Senior Citizens Center.

There will be a gathering of family and friends Friday, February 14, 2020 at NEWCOMER CREMATIONS, FUNERALS & RECEPTIONS, Dayton North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH starting at 9:00 am, followed by a celebration of Verselle's life at 10:00 am with Pastor Ervin Winston presiding. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery. Contributions if desired may be made to Hospice of Dayton in memory of Verselle.
