In Memory Of
Janis C. Lowery
1939 - 2020
“Blessed and Highly Favored” was her favorite saying and she truly was. Janis was a devout catholic, prior member of St. James Catholic Church and current member of St. Benedict the Moor. She was a 4th Degree member of Ladies of Grace, Gracious Lady Evelyn Chargois, Chapter 46 and Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary St. Simon of Cyrene Court #353, 3rd Degree.
Janis loved her family and was a mother of five sons and several bonus sons. Her home was home to many more and she loved them all dearly. Janis and her sisters were passionate about having a good time and could out dance everyone. She gave dancing lessons to her sisters and is surely giving lessons in Heaven.
On Monday, February 10, 2020 Janis C. Lowery peacefully transitioned from earthly life to eternal life, met by The Lord, her parents, grandson Evan D. Lowery and niece Bridget M. Buchanon.
Janis leaves to cherish fond memories and celebrate her life- sons: Everett David (Chris) Lowery, William "Tony" (Lynette) Lowery, Charles (Tina) Lowery, Robert "Bobby" Lowery (Cindy) and Michael Todd Lowery, Sr.; Stepson Gregory (Monica) Johnson; sisters: Maxine (James) Brooks, Marva (Clifford) Darrett, and Lavern "Bunny" (Raymond) Allen; Grandchildren: Brandi, Yolanda, Alicia, Patrick, Latisha, William "Bear", Candice, Sonja, Lamar, Danyell, Tonya, Keshia, Lexus, Cody, Ashley, Robbie, Devyn, Michael, Jr., Madison, Mackenzie; 28 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; one nephew; five nieces; Sister/friend Bertha Early Taylor and a host of other relatives and friends.
Janis Caryl Lowery
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done. I'd like to leave echo whispering softly down the ways. Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
