Sharon Jean Hood, 69, of Dayton, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2020 at home.

She was born on July 6, 1950 to Forney and Valera (Lowe) Prater in Dayton, OH.

Sharon Jean Hood has now gone to rest with her mother Valera Prater, Sisters Patricia Williams, Philbertha Driscoll-Allen, Brothers Charles Prater & Arron Prater.

Sharon leaves behind her children Jerry (Rachael) Hood Jr., Robert Prater Sr. and Jermica Hood. Sharon had 8 wonderful grandchildren: Robert Prater Jr., Gabrielle Hood, Jerryonna Hood, Austin Hood, Miracle Prater-Lasley, Khálee Cole, Journey Hood, and Justice Hood. Siblings: Marie Sutton, Cassie (Robert) Shepard, and Nathanial Prater and special niece Anastasia Sutton' Leonard. She also leaves behind a host of other loving family and friends.

Sharon lived a blessed life but she suffered from long-term complications due to sickle cell anemia; however, our mother fought a long hard fight to stay with us but God was ready to call her home.

Sharon attended Dunbar High School Class of 1969. Sharon went on to have three wonderful children and maintained a 30 year career in Residential Property Management.

Sharon also served as a member of OES organization and St. Luke Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, 10:00 am at the St. Luke Baptist Church, Dayton, OH. Family will receive guests starting at 9:00 am for Visitation.

Burial immediately after at West Memory Gardens in Dayton.

Arrangements in the care of Newcomer North Dayton Chapel.
