Sylvia E. Banks, age 83, of Xenia Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2020 after a lengthy illness. The fourth born to James Earl and Carrie Inez Scott on September 27, 1936.
Although Sylvia was ill for a longtime, her faith was not deterred from her God. 2nd Timothy 4:7: I have fought a good fight, I finished my course, I have kept the faith. Rest easy Sylvia.
The family would like to thank the nursing home, Harmony Center for rehabilitation and healing, formerly Greene Memorial Hospital and Vita Hospice for the care they gave her while in their for the past 10 years.
A special thank you to her sister and friend Cheryl Smith. And now Newcomer Funeral for their care of Sylvia.
In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband of over 35 years, Rhuben Banks; sisters, Lillie "Becky" and Estella "Stella; brother, James "Dud".
Sylvia is survived by a host of family members, friends, and loved ones. She was a friend of "Bill W." for 45 years, mentoring, sponsoring, and supporting scores of fellow members.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm with a service beginning at 3:00 pm with Pastor Leroy Hines-Anthony M.Div. officiating.
Burial will take place at Dayton National Cemetery on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 10:00 am.
