Althea was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to cook and do her crafts.
Althea was preceded in death by her parents, Dorcas and Paul Shelton; and her husband Donald "Pumpkin" Upshaw.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Donald (Fern) Upshaw Jr., Jason (Rhonda) Upshaw and Petra Upshaw (Ralph); her favorite grandsons, Chase and Charles Upshaw and Royce Upshaw; siblings, Johnnie R. Johnson, Jean Baldwin and Paul "Byron" Shelton; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Family will receive friends Friday, December 13, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial at 1 p.m. will be held at Dayton National Cemetery.
