In Memory Of
Eric Y. Gutierrez Sandoval
1999 - 2019

Eric Yobani Gutierrez Sandoval, age 20 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his family. He was born June 25th, 1999 in Morelia, Michoacan, MX to Baltazar and Abigail. They settled in Dayton, OH a year later.

Eric is survived by his parents, Baltazar and Abigail, as well as his siblings, Gilberto and Rocio. His aunt and uncle, Maria and Samuel, played a particularly important part of his last year on this earth. He has many extended family members and friends who will continue to celebrate his life and the impact he has had on them.

Eric was a 2017 graduate of Horizon Science Academy Dayton High School where he enjoyed playing soccer for a year. In his spare time, Eric enjoyed drawing, anime, watching and playing basketball, and spending time with his close friends (Meshayla, Jose, Reggie, Robert, and Rylan).

Eric was a funny person to all people. He knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face. He could make a joke out of just about anything. He was also a very caring person. He always looked out for his siblings. He was an animal kind of guy. He loved dogs and always knew how to care and love his pets. He never let his illness get the best of him, he always made jokes about it even if he knew it was rough for him he still knew how to twist it around for the better good. In the summer of 2018 he was baptized because he wanted to change his ways and be a better person. He wanted to follow in God’s path. He was all about animation (Naruto, Dragon Ball). He liked to reminisce about old times. Sometimes even the smallest things could trigger a memory for him. It could be a song, a phrase, even food reminded him of things. He liked to make jokes about his closest family members (his siblings, Lisa, Angel). It was all harmless teasing but in the end it all ended in laughter. Even though he didn’t know 2019 was going to be his last year he still wanted to spend more time with his family and friends. His smile, his laugh, his cheerfulness, his personality will always be remembered by all of us.

Family will receive guests from 2:00-4:00 pm Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home – KETTERING.
