Also surviving are 12 grandchildren: Stacey (Archie) Amerson, LaCourtney McDowell, Willie McDowell Jr., Damon McDowell, Eric Crawford, Derrick "Mikey" Stratton, Mar'kea Crawford, Darryl Boger Jr., Marcus Crawford Jr., Malik Swanson, Brandon Crawford, Marcellis Crawford and Marnae Crawford; 10 great-grandchildren, Dayana, Chris Jr., Amariya, Avaney, Trayvon Jr., Traviona, Tayvon, Tay'kwaun, Damon Jr., Ma'kayla Crawford. Special friends and extended family, Sharon (Craig) Cortner, Sharon "Suzie" Borders, Helen Swanson, Cynthia Douglas, Chepkemboi "Kim" Nelson, Marina Swanson, Brandi Sims.
Charles received Christ at an early age and was very active in his church. He was active in the City of Dayton Parks and Recreation, was a softball umpire, Boy Scout Leader, retired from Central Printing in Dayton and Springfield and was a graphic arts instructor at Central State University.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends, Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at NEW HOPE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2000 Catalpa Drive, Dayton starting at 5:30 pm, followed by a Celebration of Charles' Life at 6:30 pm with Rev. CRAWFORD, Charles 83, of Dayton, passed away peacefully Monday, October 14, 2019. Charles was born December 5, 1935 in Dayton.
