John Michael Reese, age 40, of Riverside, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2019. He was a Christian, baptized and confirmed, and loved the Lord. He is now at peace in Jesus’ arms.

He was born on January 10, 1979 at Kettering Hospital. He attended the Mad River School system, graduating from Stebbins High School in 1997. During his younger years John was a boy scout and came in 2nd place with derby car racing, he also took entomology classes at the Museum of Natural History where he collected butterflies and insects. He came in 2nd place for his insect collection and report. He also loved roller skating, bowling and swimming. He enjoyed fishing with his dad, and won a 10 speed bike at a fishing derby. He collected stamps, first day covers, and coins. John also delivered the Dayton Daily newspaper. He loved animals and had pet cats, a bunny and several different hamsters. John went on to attend ITT Tech and the International College of Broadcasting. He was the owner of Galaxy Records, and enjoyed music. He played the viola, guitar and piano and played the guitar in a church band. John worked with the computer and was also great with electronics. He also worked with a master mechanic and loved working on cars. John also loved watercolor painting. He earned his black belt for Tai Kwon Do.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Michael Reese in 2012. He is survived by his mother, Paula Reese; brother, Pete (Gracie) Reese; niece, Courtney Reese; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on October 12, 2019 from 2:00pm until time of memorial service at 3:00pm at Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton Xenia Road. John’s urn will be buried on his father’s grave at Davids Cemetery on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 9:00 am.
