In Memory Of
Sylvia Yvette Bell
1959 - 2019

Sylvia was the final child born to Robert & Irene Bell. She attended McNary and Westwood Elementary Schools and Patterson Co-operative High School. Sylvia's co-op job was at Wright Patterson Air Force Base where she continued employment after graduation from high school. Eventually Sylvia transferred to Lowrey Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado. She remained in Colorado for 10 years before returning to Dayton, and during that time, her daughter, LaStacia Marie Green, was born.

Sylvia was a fun-loving, loud talking, and good-hearted person. If you needed help of any kind, and she was able to do it or give it, she would be there for you. She really was a push-over when someone truly was in need. Sylvia also made a her likes and dislikes known. To put it mildly, Sylvia had no filter and sometimes you never knew what she might say!

There wasn't anything that meant more to Sylvia than family. She loved her grandchildren more than words can express. Tray, Precious, and Germany were her reason's to do what she did. You would usually find them with her on the weekends. She took great pleasure in taking the girls to festivals, to Riverscape, or for walks in the neighborhood. They had her heart and her purse-strings.

Sylvia was preceded by her parents, Robert & Irene Bell, sisters, Mattie R. Goodnight and Constance Rena Baker and niece Alesha Baker-Peagler. She is survived by daughter, LaStacia M. Green, grandchildren, Tra'Vion A. Smith, Precious Green, and Germany Hughes. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Robert A. Bell, Sr. and Jerome Bell, a sister, Lenora Walker of Aurora, CO, special nephews, Robert A. Bell Jr. and Richard Kevin Walker Jr., nieces, Charmaine Washington and Erin Bell, and her cousin Henry Gross and the Chase family. Long time special friends Melanie King, Valinda Carlson, Terry Allen, Wayne Arrignton, Terrance Smitherland, and Dale Lacy. Life long friend, JoAnn Johnson and family also mourn her passing along with many family members and friends.

A memorial service for Sylvia will be held Saturday, October 5th, at 2:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton Ohio. The family will be at 3574 St. James Avenue following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for Sylvia's grandchildren. Please forward to LaStacia Green.
