Edward (Ed) Thomas Eckman, died peacefully after a battle with cancer on September 5, 2019. Born on August 18, 1952 in San Antonio, TX to Joseph and Cora Eckman, Ed was the oldest of 6 children. Ed and his siblings were raised in Centerville, OH and he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam era. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeana Eckman of 33 years; brother, Matthew Eckman and his parents. Ed leaves behind his life-partner, Beverly Spires; sisters, Christina (husband, Christopher) Young and Anne (daughter, Abigail) Eckman; brothers, John (wife and children, Shelly, Jack, Ben and Sam) Eckman and Joseph "Bart" (children, Jesse and Kylie) Eckman; daughter, Kelly (husband and children, James, Charlotte and Grant) Horton; and step-daughters, Cherene (husband, Sherif) Ismail and Krista Gail Spires; and step-sons, Jack Lowe and Michael McDonnald.

A man of faith, nothing brought Ed more joy than the love of his family and friends. He was a wonderful hugger and was often reminding those around him of his unending love for them through texts and phone calls. Ed was a life long St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan, Member of the American Legion post 675., member of the “40 Club” (bowling). Ed worked in the car parts industry with many years of service with Smedley’s Chevrolet and Lang’s Chevrolet. Ed loved a good joke, and his laugh was infectious.
