Marjorie Elaine Leiter
1929 - 2019
Marjorie grew up on a farm outside Congress, Saskatchewan and after completing 10 years of education, went to cosmetology school in Moose Jaw where she met and later married her first husband, Wilburn Mooney, the father of her children. In 1962 the family moved to Dayton, Ohio. Marjorie and Wilburn divorced in 1971 and Marjorie met and married Sheridan later that year. Marjorie became a U.S. in citizen 1972 and spent many years volunteering at the VA Hospital in Dayton. In retirement, Marjorie and Sheridan travelled extensively and maintained a winter home in Florida for many years until shortly before Sheridan’s death in 2011. After Sheridan’s death, son Brad rescued Goldie who became Marjorie’s loving and faithful companion for her remaining years and brought so much joy to the lives of so many.
Marjorie was a member of the Zion Memorial United Church of Christ, Moraine. She was active at the VFW and was always quite social. Marjorie will always be remembered as a kind and loving friend and as a dog lover.
