George C. Bruggeman, age 95 of Dayton, passed away April 17, 2019. He was born April 22, 1923 to the late Albert Hendrik and Emelie Laurentina Bruggeman. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Paugh; grandson, Blake LaForce; granddaughter, Christina Bruggeman; brother, Bobbie Bruggeman, and brothers-in-law, Henk Stampfli and Dick Tilmanns.

George is survived by his wife, Jans S. Bruggeman; children: Edith (Errol) Braaksma; Ingrid Paugh; Linda (Mark) LaForce; George (Connie) Bruggeman; Arlis (Kathy) Bruggeman; and Dwight (H. Charlene) Bruggeman; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; siblings: Erna Tilmanns, Loes (Jim Cook/Rudy VanHemert), Jenny Stampfli, Edward (Cindy) Bruggeman, Joe (Karen) Bruggeman and Rudy (Irene) Bruggeman.

George was a member of Huber Heights Church of God; was a former employee at Macy's (Rikes); was the owner of Frontier House Restaurant. He promoted some of the first soccer clubs in the Dayton area. George was in the Dutch Army during WWII and was a Prisoner of War. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Visitation will be held from 10 am - 12 pm on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Huber Heights Church of God, 6900 Brandt Pike, where the funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm. His son, Pastor Dwight Bruggeman will officiate. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made in George's memory to the Hospice of Dayton.
