Tom was born February 16, 1938 in Harlan County, Kentucky where he graduated from Hall High School in 1957. He proudly served in the United States Army. He then worked for 27 years at Delco Moraine before retiring.
He was a devoted husband and father who loved his family, his best friend Sadie, and of course, his Kentucky Wildcats.
He loved watching the Wildcats play basketball and attending Wright State Raider games whenever he got an opportunity.
Tom was recognized by many neighbors as the avid walker they always saw with his dogs. He walked 8 miles a day until he was 77.
He also enjoyed showing off his ’68 GTO at local car shows.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Jerry & Amanda), his brother Ernest, sisters Lucy, Geraldine, & Francis.
Survived by Lois, his loving wife of 50 years, children Greg & Janey, his best friend Sadie, sister Lavelle Rhea, and brother Ralph.
Tom was loved and will be missed by special buddies; Ron, Randy & Scott. Also by sisters in law; Louise (Jerry), Edna, Jan (Randy), Carol (Keith), Donna and many other loving relatives & friends.
Tom’s family will greet friends on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Byron Cemetery.
