1947 - 2019

Gregory L. “Greg” Wilson, Sr., 72, of Blanchester, Ohio passed away on February 6, 2019 at Hospice of Dayton, Ohio.

Greg was born on January 2, 1947 to Kenneth and Monna Wilson in Dayton, Ohio.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Beverly Wilson; children Gregory Wilson, Jr., Christopher Wilson, Dawn (Trevor) Oliver, and James Wilson; grandchildren, Joseph Wilson, Tyler Oliver, Jesse Wilson, Trevon Oliver, and Bailey Oliver; siblings, Mary Wilbik and Richard Wilson; and other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wilson and his mother, Monna B. Wilson; brothers, William Wilson and Kenneth Wilson.

Greg retired from the printing industry after 39 years. He was never one to sit idle. He went on to work at Walmart for 10 years. He loved being around people and never met a stranger. He was an avid baseball fan and a lifetime fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He also enjoyed bowling, reading, and gathering as much knowledge as he could as well. There was always something new to be learned or a new skill to be mastered-100% effort. After retirement, he added golfing to his list of activities. He was a great teacher with almost endless patience, loved to share life lessons and experiences. The mentality of a lifelong coach.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Beavercreek Chapel.

A Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm.

Interment will take place immediately after at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
