Paul Lindquist died at the age of 79, on December 3rd, following a lengthy illness with family at his side. He is preceded in death by his parents Edith and Levi; his brothers Vernon, Lawrence, Elmer and Bob; his sister Myrtle Breitholtz and his children Debbie and Bill.

He is survived by his wife Karen; his children Justina, Shelly, Pam, Kathy, James and his 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, sister in laws Gloria and Frances, and many nieces and nephews.

Paul had a master’s degree in mechanical engineering. He was a farmer for 40 years and worked for the USAF for 33 years on projects from the SDI and early ion engines to acoustic fatigue in aircraft. He was very active serving on both the local and Preble county school board and was a critical part of the formation of the Tri-County North school district. He served on the financial board for WIMPL, the president of the Preble county council on aging, and headed the AARP tax program. He was honored as the Senior Citizen of the year in 2010 and held many positions in the Sq. Dance and round dance community. He was the Treasurer of Curli Q’s Dance club and with Karen became the MVDC honor couple. He became a polar bear by swimming in the Arctic Ocean, climbed Machu Picchu and became a life master in Bridge. He served as a Stephen’s minister, and sang in many church Choirs. Paul lived and trusted his life in God’s hands. We can hear these words being said “Well done good and faithful servant.”

A memorial service is being held on Saturday Dec 8th at Lewisburg UMC at 3pm. Donations can be made to the Preble County Foodbank in his name in lieu of flowers. Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. To send a special message to the family, please click on Share Memories.
