Kenneth L. Venable, 69 of Dayton is resting with the Lord. Born August 2, 1947 in Sullivan, WV. He passed away on July 14, 2017 holding hands with his wife. Preceded in death by parents: Dorsey and Willie K. Venable; devoted daughter, Katherine Venable-Johnson; and 3 sisters: Joyce, Eunice and Shirley.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Gwen; brother, Loyce (Doris); special nephew and niece, Vance (Cathy) and Yolanda (Charles); grandson, Terance; son-in-law, William; step-children: Joi, Princeton, Seana (Kenny) and Karmen (Bryan); special grandson, Zanai; brother-in-law, Raymond; many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends, including aunt, Fannie Shepherd.

Ken was a faithful member of Christian Life Center for 31 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, with many lasting friendships. He retired from AT&T after more than 30 years and was a devoted and valued employee at Newcomer Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5-8 pm on Thursday, July 20, 2017 in the sanctuary at Christian Life Center (doors 3 & 4), 3489 Little York Road, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, visitation one hour prior. Pastor Stan Tharp officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 am on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Dayton National Cemetery.
