Patrick D. Steck, Sr., age 77, of Dayton, passed away on April 10, 2016 at Heartland of Kettering. He was born on February 28, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Alice (Papenbrock) Steck. Along with his parents, Pat is preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph Steck Jr., Daniel Steck, Debra Byrd, Kathleen Osterfeld and Christopher Steck. Pat is survived by his three sons, Patrick (Geneva) Steck, Jr., Timothy (Geri) Steck, Steven Steck; two daughters, Rita (Mike) Knepper, Kimberly Firpo; former wife Judy Steele; special friend and caregiver, Geri Vorwerck; three brothers, Roland (Diana) Steck, Michael (Robin) Steck, David (Pat) Steck; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as an electrician for GM until his retirement. He was a proud member since 1957 and past president of the Falcon Club, and also past commander of Am Vets Post #24. Pat was a member of American Legion #619, the Dayton Gym Club, was a 32nd degree Mason in Farmersville, OH and was also a Kentucky Colonel. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 310 Allen St, Dayton, OH 45410. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors.
