Fred V. Walling, 86, of Miamisburg, passed away on February 15, 2017. He was born on September 2, 1930 to the late Freddi and Anna (Frank) Walling in Keyport, NJ.
Fred served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a volunteer fire fighter in Keyport, NJ. He later retired from law enforcement after 36 years of service. He was also a member of the FOP in West Palm Beach, FL and the Miamisburg Christian Church.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Thelma Walling; step-son, John (Shelly) Kelly; step-granddaughters, Sarah Jo (Doug) Gregory and Emily (Jay) Dibble, as well as special friends of the Police Department in West Palm Beach, FL and St. Lucie County Sheriff's Department in Fort Pierce, FL.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Doug Walling.
A gathering will be held from 11:00-11:30am on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, 1639 E. Lytle Five Points Rd., Centerville, OH 45458, where a service will follow at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the FOP in Fred's memory.
