He was born December 2, 1933 in Queens, NY to the late Arthur T. and Margaret Browne. Richard was a 1951 graduate of Honesdale High School in PA and a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was an electrical engineer with Bell Labs, SRL, and retired from Barco in 2001. He was also owner of Browne Engineering and Fabrication. A devoted member of First Church of Christ, he made extensive contributions to their video ministry, and faithfully attended the Xenia Men’s Christian Fellowship.
Survived by his wife Nancy (Walker) of 50 years; daughter, Amy (Jeff) Wright; son, Todd Browne; and granddaughter, Natalie. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carole Browne.
Visitation will be held Friday evening (TONIGHT) from 6:30-8:30 pm at First Church of Christ, 441 Ledbetter Rd., Xenia. Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 am at the church, with burial immediately following at Westboro Cemetery, Westboro, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of Dayton or to First Church of Christ.
