Alan J. Ponce, Sr., age 81 of Vandalia, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at his residence. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Catherine E. “Kay” (Noonan) Ponce; parents, Alfonso and Josephine (Ravelo) Ponce; sister, Josephine; and brother, Angelo.

He is survived by his children, Diana Ponce Morris, Laura Ponce Clarke, Alan (Lana) Ponce, Jr., and Victoria Ponce; five grandchildren, Erica, Alan James, David, Dalton, and Dillon; sister, Coni (Ed) Gilliland; sister-in-law, Irene Ponce; nephew, Albert Donato; close friends, Tom Finnegan, Giles Nolan, Bruce McCormick, Stan Terebinski, and Greg Brockert.

Alan was an avid golfer, handball and tennis player. A special tribute to the furniture industry, which he worked tirelessly for 54 years, making numerous acquaintances and friends along the way.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Alan’s personal caregiver, Dee Osmani, and the staff of The Hospice of Dayton for their love and care they expressed. A special thank you to the Dayton Living Word Church for the many visits and prayers.
