Melvin Floyd Metzler, 77, of Bellbrook, peacefully passed away on September 29, 2022. He was born January 2, 1945, in Trenton, NJ, to the late Robert and Marion (Clayton) Metzler. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and the Ohio Military Reserve. Mel earned a Bachelor's degree from The University of Dayton. He retired from Delphi after 29 years of service as a product engineer. After retirement, he continued working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a security officer.

He is survived by his children, Chris (Dawn) Metzler, Loren (Jessica) Metzler, Colin (Rachel Kathryn) Metzler, Kylie (Brad) TenBrook, Andrew (Tiffani) Crawford, Kevin Crawford, and Ben Crawford; grandchildren, Meghan, Rachel, Everett, Katie, Lydia, Adeline, August, Stella, Shirley, Izabella, Harper, and Zelda; sister, Marty (John) Oliver; niece, Mandy (Matthew) Kowalski; and numerous other family members and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 from 5:00-7:00PM at Newcomer Centerville Chapel, 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH 45459. A Funeral Service will be Thursday, October 13th, 2022 beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery, with military honors.
