Sheila C. Sousa, age 71, of Beavercreek, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family, at her home on Monday, August 8, 2022.

She was born September 13, 1950 in Newton, MA to William C. and Lucille M. (Rossignol) Scott.

Sheila was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Marie Sousa and her father, William Scott.

Sheila leaves behind her husband of 51 years, Charles J. “Chuck” Sousa; her daughters, Tara (Ed) Schumaker, and Trina (Rob) Lamoureux; her 7 beloved grandchildren, Jason, Luke, Gabby, Jalane, Avery, Lisey and Everly. She is also survived by her mother, Lucille Scott; and her two longtime friends, Diane Savage and Jessica Hammen.

Sheila loved and excelled at her long career of being an Educator. She impacted many young lives teaching at WPAFB Kindergarten, Spin Kemp Kindergarten in Riverside and the Mulberry Bush Pre-school in Kettering. She especially enjoyed making her house a home wherever Chuck was stationed across the world. Holiday decorating was a great pleasure to her. Most of all, Sheila loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren who were all very dear to her heart.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at Ascension Catholic Church, 2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering, OH. Inurnment at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third Street, Dayton, OH will be held on August 22, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
