Goodman, Allen Dale. 1961-2021.
A little about the 59 years represented by the dash;

Dale and Patricia Goodman "saved the best for last" when Allen was born November 30, 1961 in Ludlow, Massachusetts. Winning his first award when he wasn't even a year old, the "cutest baby in the neighborhood" completed the Goodman family- joining Diana, Janette, and Vernon in many years of mischief, hijinks, and lots of love.

Allen grew up running around New Carlisle, Ohio. Before he could even (legally) drive, Allen was a passionate athlete, taking the most interest in baseball and basketball. The years of being recruited by his older brother to win bets on winning basketball games quickly morphed into years of sports of all kinds with his many nieces and nephews. "Uncle Al the kiddies' pal" was the highlight of every family get together, with his contagious love for sports, laughter, games, and fun.

Allen married his equally goofy counterpart of 32 years, Jonetta, in the Spring of 1989. The pair shared a love of animals, humor, adventures, working with kids, and family. The adoption of their rescued dog "Dopey" was the beginning of their little family.

Allen passed on his love of fun and sports to his four daughters Brandy, Cortney, Cassey, and Christy. From teaching them how to sign "touchdown" before being able to talk, to wearing hot pink socks after their team he coached won- Allen was the epitome of an incredible girl dad. Princess dress up, homemade playground equipment, self made sledding hills, backyard softball practice- there was nothing Allen would stop at to bring a smile to his girls' faces.

If there was a way to go above and beyond for the ones he loved, Allen made sure to find it. After adding the title of "Papaw" to his resume, Allen took so much pride in spoiling his four grandchildren- Micah, Amiya, AJ, and Briella- that they often questioned if he was the real Santa Claus.

The annual family trip to Cape Canaveral, Florida was the highlight of recent years for Allen. He enjoyed spending his time waiting for this trip by hanging out with his family, watching football, eating sweet treats, doing home improvement projects, and snuggling with the "cat he didn't want", Porkchop. A man of great faith, he also enjoyed listening to worship music in his free time.

Allen will be missed and remembered by all he met. He will be carried on in the hearts of his wife, Jonetta, and their three daughters, Cortney, Cassey and her husband, Anthony, and Christy; his second wife, Julie; his first wife, Lisa and their daughter, Brandy and her husband, Rich; his four grandchildren, Micah, Amiya, AJ, and Briella; his mother, Patricia; his older siblings, Vernon, Janette, Diana; his Wright/Goodman/James nieces and nephews. Allen was greeted in Heaven by his father, Dale; mother-in-law Joan, and many aunts and uncles.

Family will receive friends Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial New Carlisle Cemetery.
