Clifford Anderson Franklin was born October 12, 1931 to the late Clifford and Pearl Franklin. Clifford served in the United States Army and he worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He was a hardworking man until he retired in 1992.

He received entrance into eternity on September 10, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. Clifford will be remembered as a patriarch of his family, also for his strength, his enjoyment of life, his love for the Lord, his love for his family and for his service to his country. You could always find him sitting in his chair, watching TV, and enjoying a good home cooked meal. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and love him dearly.

Clifford's memories will live on in the hearts of those who have been touched by his kind spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Pearl Franklin; the mothers of his children, Barbara Franklin, Charlotte Jefferson, Marion Simpson and Martha Jordan; his daughter, Gwendolyn Sims; his son, Clifford (Butchie) Franklin; his grandson, Derrick Alexander Waller; brother, Charles Franklin; and sisters, Mary Bates and Helen Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Patricia Graham and Toni Jefferson both of Dayton, OH; two sons, Wayne (Nicole) Franklin of Columbus, OH, and Edward (Sheila) Franklin of Conway, AR; 27 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. Burial to follow the services at Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors.
