Betty Lou Martin, age 82, of Huber Heights, Ohio. She was born August 24, 1939 in Cochran, Georgia to the late Harrison Beck and Hattie (Hook) Beck. On Monday, September 13, she was called home.

She moved to Coshocton, Ohio at an early age and eventually met and married the late Air Force Tsgt John L. Martin. They had four children (Larry, Johnny, Karen & Michelle) and lived the military life, traveling the world.

Betty & John L settled in Dayton, Ohio, where she worked as a Chief Financial Officer for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service as a civilian employee receiving numerous accolades for her dedication of service for over 25 years. Betty & John L. were also charter members of the American Legion Post 776 and she served as Ladies Auxiliary Chairperson for two terms.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers (Homer, Roger and Adrian) and two sisters (Daisy Mae and Shirley Mae)

She leaves to cherish her memories, her two sons, Larry (Jacquelyn) of Huber Heights, Ohio and Johnny of Huber Heights, two daughters, Karen (Anthony) of Columbus, Ohio and Michelle Laverne of Beavercreek, Ohio. Two sisters, Margarete Harris of Detroit, Michigan and Mamie Lou Ivery of Miami, Florida. Ten grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashton, Corey, Anthony II, Aaron, Chanel (Maurice), Malik, Theodore, Jerica and Lydia. Eleven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:30am-11:30am, on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where Funeral Services will begin at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
