In Memory Of
Shawn Christopher Brownlee
1980 - 2020

Shawn Brownlee, age 40, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 1, 2020, after losing his brief but fierce battle with COVID-19 and newly diagnosed leukemia at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. He was born on July 3, 1980 in Xenia OH to Christopher and Leslie Back Brownlee.

He was preceded in death by his baby brother Chad Brownlee, his father Christopher Brownlee, his aunt Cathy Brownlee, his grandparents Jerry Back and Bill and Betty Brownlee and by very special great-grandparents Dr D.V. and Geneva Garrison who adored him.

Shawn is survived by his daughter Gracie who meant the world to him and who he loved more than anything. He is also survived by his mother and step-father Leslie and Tom Osborne, brother Matt Back (Jessica Hanson) and sister Kella (Justin) Knauff; aunts Kandy (Randy) Agee, Genny Osborne, Billie (Ed) Kuran and Susie (Victor) Lehmann, uncle Miles (Lisa) Back, grandmother Donnis Back Russell, nieces and nephews Ethan, Bradyn, Owen, McKenna, Josiah, Colton, and Julie and cousins Nick Osborne, Jake Osborne and Brendon and Amanda Back and many other family members and friends. Shawn, his brother Matt, and cousins Nick and Jake all grew up together in the same neighborhood and had very special “brother” bonds. He loved and cherished his unbreakable bonds with his siblings, Mathew and Kella.

Shawn attended Xenia Community Schools and recently completed courses on fiberoptic cabling. He was formerly employed at B&M Auto Repair. He loved working on cars, motorcycles, 4-wheelers, dirt bikes and anything with a motor; he could fix anything. He had an infectious laugh and entertained his family and friends with impersonations and funny stories. He was kind-hearted, strong willed and loved his family and family get together's. We will miss that laugh, that grin and those funny impersonations and someday we will be able to laugh about them again, but not yet. We will all be together again someday; Shawn, we all love you very much.

A Gathering will be held from 3:00 - 4:00 pm on July 3, 2021 with a Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm at AHOP Church, 282 Stelton Rd,,Xenia, Ohio with Pastor Mark Brooks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Shawn’s memory to A Special Wish, 741 Valley Street, Dayton OH 45404 937-641-4266 www.aspecialwishdayton.org or to your favorite charity.
