1932 - 2020

Naomi Maxine Rowland (Osborne), age 88 of Xenia, passed away on October 21, 2020. Maxine was born on June 27, 1932 in Blackwater, Virginia. She was the daughter of Roy Osborne and Mattie (Weatherly) Osborne. Maxine was married to the late Robert S. Rowland and together they raised two children. Maxine was an accomplished seamstress and upholsterer. Those beautiful hands were so creative. She loved photography. She photographed many weddings. Maxine was an avid member of the James Dean Fan Club for which she has been an active member since the beginning. She has so many friends in Fairmount, Indiana and around the world that she kept in touch with. Maxine loved working in her flower beds when she was able. She was a great lover of all animals, wanting to care for all of them. She kept her pockets full of treats for her special dog friend, Elly Mae at Elmcroft.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Donald Osborne and wife Betty, sisters, Sue Ella and husband Edgar Morris Giles, Ruth Harris and husband Charles Harris, Brother in law, Frank Rowland and sister in law, Janice Corwin. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ron and Marilee Rowland and Patricia and Barry Bahns. Grandchildren, Todd (Michelle) Bahns, Ryan (Nikki) Bahns, Jeannine (Brett) Perkins and Chris Pence. Great grandchildren, Damon Bahns, Madison Bahns, Zack (Mae) Perkins, Ashley Perkins, Caitlyn Pence, and Michelle Pence. Her first great great grandson is due this winter. Sisters in laws, Dorotha Rowland , Marge (Ray) Moorman, Beverly (Elwood) Reuber and brother in law, John Corwin and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Gabby.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dayton on Wilmington Ave. and the staff at Elmcroft Assisted Living for their compassionate care.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek on Wednesday November 4, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with the service following at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the family plot at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in New Carlisle.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton (324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420) or to the Greene County Humane Society.
