Joe was a loving Christian, husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Joe proudly served his country from 1980-1989 serving in the United States Navy and Air Force Reserves. Joe was a Truck Driver, his dream job, for 7-Up Bottling, Towne Air Freight, and retired from Carter Express, where he left behind numerous lifelong friends.
He loved Bowling and Golf, but his favorite pastime was building Legos with his grandson, Kai. Joe loved and was a dedicated fan to the Dallas Cowboys. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Vera Johnston; and father Lebert Johnston.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 39 years Mary Ellen Johnston; daughters, Lindsay Marie (Anthony) Hixon, and Chelsea Lin Johnston; grandson, Kai Hixon; mother, Geraldine (Steve) Wolf; sister, Patti (Darin) Wion; several nieces and nephews; GCC Family; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation on Monday, October 19, 2020 at Grace Crossing Church, 1553 Beaver Valley Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. Visitation from Noon - 2:00pm., with a celebration of life service at 2:00pm.
Memorial contributions can be made in Joe's honor to Hospice of Dayton and or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
