1939 - 2020

Jeana J. Hooten, age 80, of New Carlisle, passed away September 26, 2020. She was born in Tennessee on November 13, 1939, the daughter of the late Alex Farley and Alberta (Clouse) Farley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Charles Hooten; daughter, Carolyn Ann Elsass; her sister, Sue Farley; and her brother, Chester Farley.

Jeana is survived by her children, Norma Palmer, Richard Hooten and Charlie (Twain) Carter; son-in-law, Michael Elsass; grandchildren, Brandy Brittain, Dustin (Brittany) Elsass, Josh Hooten, Terrance Carter, Bret Hymer and Aliyah Hymer; great grandchildren, Makayla and Sydney Brittain, and Ethan Elsass; sister, Lorene Reed; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She retired from Chrysler Corporation in Dayton, where she worked for many years on the Assembly line. Jeana also sold Sarah Coventry Jewelry for many years before her employment with Chrysler. She was a Regional Director and received many awards for her role with the company. She was a member of Northridge Freewill Baptist Church for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed playing piano, singing, watching her favorite TV channel and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 am- 10:30am, on Friday, October 2, 2020, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where services will begin at 10:30 am with Reverend Steve Nichols officiating. Burial will follow on Saturday at Crest Lawn Cemetery in Cookeville, TN.

Donations may be made in her honor to Crossroads Hospice, 8069 Washington Village Dr., Dayton, OH 45458.
