Michael Gaines "Mike" Horvath
1943 - 2020

Michael Gaines Horvath, age 76 of Beavercreek, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at his home. He was born November 14, 1943 in Morganfield, Kentucky the son of Michael and Ottilie Horvath (Cooksey).

Mike worked as a salesman for many years, the latest being Mueller Roofing. He loved working in the yard, piddling in his garage, fishing and spending time with his dogs. He enjoyed anything to do with the Civil War. He loved watching sports, especially The Cincinnati Reds, The Ohio State Buckeyes and The Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed drives in the country with the love of his life. He was a loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, Uncle and friend who will be dearly missed.

Michael is survived by his wife of 49 years, Theresa Horvath (Grimes); sister, Katherine Tijerina of Texas; sister-in-law, Becky Kelly and Mark of Franklin; brother-in-law Gary (Vicky) Grimes of Kentucky; nephews, Gary Grimes Jr of Huber Heights & Brad Plantz of Texas; nieces, Bethany (Robbie) Rowan & Misty Masterson, both of Texas; 4 great nieces & 4 great nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and favorite aunt & uncle, Sophie & Joe Slivenski.

A special thanks to his nurses and aides at Hospice of Dayton for all their care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Foundation -or- Hospice of Dayton in Mike's honor.

Visitation will be September 26, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). A celebration of life will follow at 4 pm.
