Shelly Lula Kovar, age 87, of Dayton, passed away August 1, 2020. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on June 12, 1933, the daughter of the late Pinkney and Janie Canady Perry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Wenceslaus "Windy" J. Kovar; siblings, Caroline McIntosh, Ollie Kindt, Pearl Ray and Earl Perry.

Shelly is survived by her children, Tony (Jackie Delgado) Kovar and Denise (Chuck) Zimmerman; Grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Franklin, Sarah (Caleb) Kovar, Ashlee (Josh) McNeely, Aaron (Ashley) Zimmerman and Allison (Joe) Rogers; Great-Grandchildren, Eden Franklin, Malekai Franklin, Hephzibah Franklin, Gavin McNeely, Owen McNeely, Marlee McNeely and Grayson Zimmerman; brother, Ivy (Judy) Perry; and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Shelly retired after many years of work in the Restaurant Industry to care for her husband. She was a member of Huber Heights Baptist Temple for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and adored spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She dedicated her life to her family and will be dearly missed by them.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020, from 10am-12pm, Huber Heights Baptist Temple, 7730 Taylorsville Rd., Dayton, where services will begin at 12pm with Pastor Chuck Zimmerman officiating.

Donations may be made in her memory to either the Alzheimer's Association, 31 W. Whipp Rd., Dayton, OH 45459 or Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45420.
