She is preceded in death by her late husband, S.L. Bridges; step-father, Arthur Robertson; mother-In law, Willie Bridges; siblings Mance Knight, Lola Yates, Fred Knight and Iola “Pansy” Gist; brother-in-law, Lewis Gist; sister-in-law, Nancy Knight; nephew, Billy Young and children-in-love; Larry and Tony Brooks.
Flora is survived by her daughters, Ellen Tina Brown, Carmela L. (David Jr.) Coble, Karla L. Bridges and Nancy “Sweet Meat” Miller; brother, Rayfield Knight; seven grandsons, Gregory L. Brooks, Richard Brown, Jr., Ronald Brown, Mario A. Coble, Chase A. Coble, Terry T.J. Heard and Randy Heard. She is also survived by a sister-in-love; Evelyn Brooks; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was known for her beautiful voice, nurturing spirit, and her devotion to her faith. Flora was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She was an avid bingo player, gospel singer, and had tremendous love for her children, both of her own and the children in her community.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 3:00 pm until time of service at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd.
