In Memory Of
Jack D. Abrams
1943 - 2019
He was born April 20, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Edward and Bernie (Snodgrass) Abrams.
After more than 20 years Jack retired from Mead Corporation Engineering Department.
He loved all types of motor sports. In his younger years he drag raced and never missed a race of any kind on TV or in person. He loved his motorcycles and actually built a Harley from ground up. Jack especially loved riding with his friends and enjoyed going on charity rides with his special nephew Jeff on their Harleys.
He also loved scuba diving, trading horses and always referred to himself as looking REAL good in a Stetson. He loved his yearly fishing trips to Canada with his brothers in law, nephews, and father in law. Jack had a special place in his heart for all his animal buddies rescuing several homeless cats and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Bernie (Snodgrass) Abrams, brother Dale Abrams, and nephew Cole Schafer.
Jack is survived by his wife of 34 years Dora (Adkins) Abrams; brother Mark Abrams; sister Jill (Larry) Schafer and many sisters in law and brothers in law who he loved dearly. He was an awesome uncle to over 100 nieces and nephews and appreciated the love and care given to him by Ryan, Samantha and especially Jason.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to SICSA https://www.sicsa.org/give/ in Jack’s memory.
