Mary "Ruth" Hertog
1934 - 2019

Mary "Ruth" Hertog, age 84 of Beavercreek, OH, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2019 at HarborChase of Beavercreek. She was born December 11, 1934 in Elkhorn, Kentucky to Elbert and Flottie (Hensley) Roberts. Ruth married Dill J. Hertog on December 15, 1956 in Richmond, Indiana.

Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She volunteered at Hospice of Dayton at the Heirloom Shop. Ruth loved to sew, garden, cook, made great peanut butter French toast and cornbread. She loved decorating her home which led her to selling Home Interiors for years. Ruth enjoyed going to church and doting on her grandchildren and great grandchild. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Ruth "Diann" (Steve Hamant) Kerns; a son, Dennis (Amy) Hertog; 5 grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda, Alison, Madelyn and Adam; a great grandson, Liam; a sister in law, Marty Swietzer; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dill; a son in law, Tim Kerns; and four siblings.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 11:00 to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery-Beavercreek, OH.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Ruth's name to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45206.
