Raymond A. Wilson, Jr.

Raymond A. Wilson, Jr., affectionately known as "Daddy, Dad, Jr., Uncle Jr., and Ray", was born on April 25, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, the oldest of four children, to the late Raymond A. Wilson, Sr. and Addie Mae (Early) Wilson. He peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio.
His Love for his family resulted in him taking a job with a construction company making sure that his mother had her first Television set.

Raymond was educated in the Montgomery County Public School System. He attended Willard and Wogaman Schools and graduated from Dunbar High School where he was a student Coach for the Track and Field Team, and an astonishing member of the Drama, Theater, and Art Societies. He also competed locally in several 5k runs thru the years.
Raymond worked as a mentor at Dayton Boys Prep Academy and was employed by Catholic Social Services.
He was employed by Television Station Channel 22 where he worked as a camera man during the era of "Dr. Creep." After which he began employment with Kettering Memorial Hospital, where he worked for many years. He worked in a steel mill in Connecticut before returning to Dayton.

Raymond was a faithful member of the Ethan Temple S.D.A. Church where he joined in 1950 and was a Devoted Sabbath School Teacher, and an avid member of the "Colporteur Team". He valued the friendships born out of those relationships.
Many years later, he transferred his membership to the New Life S.D.A. Church where he served as an Elder until 2015. He led a strategic "Bible Study Program" which resulted in many families joining the Church and getting Baptized.
Raymond was a sports enthusiast and obtained his license to become an Official Referee for the City of Dayton Sports. He enjoyed officiating City basketball and baseball games, and also refereed some of the Church League games.

Involved in the rearing of three of his great nephews, Sheldon, Jamil Smith, and Lavanta Fisher, Raymond continues to inspire others.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Martha; children, (Sarah) Sharon (Everett), Aliese, and Deborah all from Maryland; Raymond III, Darrell (Regina), Micheal, Robert, and Kenneth all from Dayton, Ohio; (Margo) Tasha from Connecticut; and (Yen) Derick from Dayton, Ohio; sixteen grandchildren, Jerry from Dayton, Ohio; LaTonya (Sheldon) from Maryland, Christopher, Sr., Anthony, Angela, Tonisha, Michael Jr. and Mia Bella Rose all from Dayton, Ohio. Justin and Janai from Maryland, and Lamon from Atlanta, GA., Michael, Malichi, Peyton, Kamryn, and Demetrius from Connecticut. Ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister, Shirley Ann Rucker from Dayton, Ohio; two cousins, Carol Early from Dayton, Ohio and Freddie Early from Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Addie Mae E. Wilson; two brothers, William “Sonny”
Wilson and David Marble; one sister, Barbara Jean Wilson; and one daughter, Brenda Joyce Wilson.
