Carla Lynn McGee, age 58 of Dayton went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2019. Carla was born on September 21, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio to the late William David Hurley and Myra Byrd. She graduated from Patterson Coop in 1978 and then went on to attend Central State University. Carla retired after 33 years of service as a pharmacy supervisor at the Dayton VA Hospital.

Carla was a devout member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She held several positions under the tutelage of Pastor Tommy Byrd and Pastor Robert Brown. Her passion for service led her to work in the church choir, media team, volunteer in the bookstore, and served as the church nurse.

Carla was a passionate reader and enjoyed being active. She played tennis and was an avid runner in her free time. She was a caring, compassionate, and loving, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and dear friend. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, loving husband, Will "Zach" McGee; daughter, Jordan Brown; brother, Larry Williams; sister, Deborah Hurley; nephews, Larry Williams, Jr., Todd Williams, and Shawn Freeman; grand-dog, Mela; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents, William David Hurley and Myra Belle Byrd.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 4pm - 7pm at Newcomer - North; A celebration of Carla's life will be held at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11am. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.
