Manuel Francisco Gonzalez, age 87 of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019. Manuel was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late John and Francesca Gonzalez on October 4, 1931. After finishing his education, Manuel enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly and faithfully served his country for 4 years until his honorable discharge in 1957. After his service, Manuel moved to Dayton, Ohio.

Manuel worked for many years as a machinist for Dayton Progress. He married the love of his life, Ruth Marie Eastin, the two spent many happy years together until her passing in 2006.

In his free time, Manuel enjoyed cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and Chicago Bulls. He loved to play cards and bingo and sharing meals with his loved ones. He was a devoted family man. Manuel enjoyed cheering on his nieces and nephews at all their sporting events. Manuel attended Faith Presbyterian Church in Huber Heights.

He was a loving and devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Manuel was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Gonzalez; and brothers, John Gonzalez, Henry Gonzalez, Fred Gonzalez, and Robert Gonzalez.

Manuel leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Meredith and Melissa; companion and great friend of 10 years, Wilma Shields; sisters, Lori (Eugene) Rossini and Louise (Arthur) Ruiz; sister-in-law and caregiver, Catherine Gonzalez; 3 grandchildren, one great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Faith Presbyterian Church (5555 Chambersburg Rd, Huber Heights, Ohio) at 11:30am. A visitation will be held for one hour prior (10:30am - 11:30am). Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Manuel's memory to Faith Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
