Mary Catherine “Toodles” Buschor, died Dec 14, 2018, at CHI Living Communities, St. Leonard’s Nursing Home, in Montgomery County, Centerville, Ohio.
She was born Mar 14, 1938, in Delphos, Ohio, to Leon Theodore Vogt and Nellie Erma Dunlap, whom both preceded her in death. On May 17, 1956, Mary graduated from Delphos St. John's High School, Allen County, Delphos, Ohio. She was a basketball cheerleader for the St. John’s Blue Jays, during her High School years. She also co-edited the St. John’s Crest year book. On Sep 10, 1959, she graduated from St. Rita's Nursing School, Lima, Ohio, where she worked as a staff nurse at the hospital. She married William Craig Buschor on Jan 9, 1960, at St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos, Ohio; whom survives her, of Centerville, OH. On Feb 22, 1960, she moved to Detroit, Michigan and was employed at Mt. Carmel Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. In 1963, she moved to Dayton, Ohio. She was a Registered Nurse, licensed in Ohio and Michigan, retiring after 45 years of nursing. She worked the last 30 of those years in Geriatrics at Bethany Lutheran Village, Centerville, Ohio. Her hobbies included playing the piano, sewing, and reading.
She is survived by a sister, LaDonna (John) Sanders of Defiance, OH, a brother, Richard (Nancy) Vogt of Southport, NC, and two sons, Daniel (Teresa) Buschor, of Sumter, SC, and Douglas Buschor, of Springboro, OH; four daughters; Brenda Savage, of Oakwood, OH, Yvonne Buschor, of Columbus, OH, Lisa Hirsch, of Columbus, OH, and Jenny (Stephen) Fuchs, of Kettering, OH; 13 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter.
There will be a private prayer service for the immediate family at St. Leonard’s, The Holy Family Chapel, Health & Rehabilitation Center. She will be cremated at Newcomers Funeral Home, Kettering, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to CHI Living Communities (St. Leonard’s), Hospice of Dayton, Alzheimer's Association, or a charity of your choosing.
