Karen Smith-Caldwell, age 51 of Riverside, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018. She was born August 1, 1967 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Ralph and Pauline Smith.

Karen was a devoted wife and loving mother. She had a green thumb that she used to tend to her household plants and outside flower gardens. She was very crafty and was known for her sewing and making "flower pot people". Karen loved to cook and bake, preparing excellent meals and goodies for family gatherings. Karen was an avid Bengals and Ohio State University fan. She enjoyed her Chihuahuas, Otis, and the late Butchie, who was her little shadow.

Karen will be missed by her loving husband, Ron; son, Jordan Caldwell; sisters, Linda Simmons (Jeff) and Ellen Wynn; brother-in-law, Marvin Strutton; sister-in-law, Mary Grigsby; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton.
