Stephen “Scott” Smith, age 64, of Kettering, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

Scott was born in Bellefontaine, OH on August 4, 1954 to adoring parents, Carl “Richard” & Marilyn Smith. Scott retired from DP&L as a plant operator. He was an avid outdoorsman and traveler, who found peace mountain biking on local trails. Scott volunteered weekly for House of Bread and throughout the year at Five Rivers MetroParks. He enjoyed music of all styles and took pleasure supporting local musicians. Scott saw life as an adventure and was passionate about living life to the fullest. Scott loved his family deeply, and cherished his many friends.

Scott is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janet Behringer Smith; son, Shannon Smith & his wife, Holli; daughter, Catherine Smith & her boyfriend, Nicholas Denham; parents, Carl “Richard” & Marilyn Smith; sisters, Susan Irwin & her husband, David, and Brenda Page; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Scott’s memory to the House of Bread by visiting http://houseofbread.org/.
