Nellie M. Collins, age 80 of Springboro, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Grandview Hospital. She was born May 9, 1938 in Holton, Indiana to the late Ova and Arizona (King) Childers.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Cap Sam Henry Collins (2013); her daughter, Charlotte Collins and brothers, Charles Childers and Ray Childers.

Nellie is survived by siblings, Glenna Sallie, Glen (Marlyne) Childers, Bonnie (Stephen) Powell, Audrey (Frank) Rose and David Childers as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Nellie attended Campton High School in Campton, KY. She had lived in the greater Dayton area since her teens and was an employee of General Motors for 19 ½ years before her retirement in 1987. In her spare time, Nellie enjoyed vacationing in Florida with her husband, gardening, fishing and shopping garage sales. She will always be remembered for her kindness and activities.

Family will receive guests from 9:00-11:00 am Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. Funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 am also at the funeral home on Tuesday.
